Originally, the Town of Batavia Fire Department Inc. engaged a design team to design their secondary fire station. They found the process difficult to manage and in addition to taking more than five years and design fees above their initial expectations, the projected project budget was nearly double what they were lead to believe.

Solution: Regaining Control
Deciding they needed to gain control of the project, the Town of Batavia Fire Department contracted with Ciurzynski Consulting LLC as their owner’s representative. Teaming with CPL, we were able to help Batavia Fire Department redesign this 10,400 square foot facility to a level they could afford, without reducing the program elements. The fire station has a dual – drive through Apparatus Bay with typical support functions.
The redesigned project is currently under construction and is tracking with the $3.6M budget and is expected to be completed in 2021, after COVID-19 related delays.
